Privacy

Your privacy,
in plain English.

The Coney Island's website is built to help you find us, see the menu, and plan a visit. We keep what we collect minimal and put you in control — here's exactly what we use, including the Google Analytics and advertising-measurement tools behind the site, and how to change your choices.

Effective June 30, 2026

01Start here

The short version

★ ✦ ★

We run a straightforward website. You won't see third-party display ads on these pages, there's no account to create, and we don't ask you to hand over personal details just to look around.

We use Google Analytics to understand — in aggregate — how people find and use the site and, with your permission, Google Ads tools to measure whether the ads we run for The Coney Island actually work and to reach people who have already visited us. A banner lets you accept or decline these, and you can change your mind anytime from Your Privacy Choices in the footer. The rest of this page fills in the detail, in plain English.

02Who's responsible

Who we are

★ ✦ ★

This website, coneyislandpottsville.com, is the official site of The Coney Island Restaurant & Tavern in Pottsville, PA. It is operated and published by Schuylkill Hub, which is responsible for the information practices described here.

When this policy says "we", "us", or "our", it means Schuylkill Hub. If you ever want to reach us about your privacy, the bottom of this page tells you how.

03The facts

What we collect

★ ✦ ★

We keep this short, because we collect very little:

  • Analytics data, through Google Analytics 4 — the pages you visit, how you arrived, an approximate (city-level) location derived from your device's IP address, and general device and browser information. This is tied to a random analytics identifier, not to your name.
  • Anonymous actions — we count simple events like tapping "call", "get directions", opening a menu PDF, or following a social link, so we can tell which information is actually useful. These are tallies, not recordings of you.
  • Server & security logs — our web host keeps standard logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the time of a request) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
  • The chat assistant — if you open "Ask Yo Coney", the messages you send are processed by our chat assistant to answer your question. Please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat. If you grant microphone access to use voice input, it's used only to capture what you ask while you're speaking.

What we don't collect

There's no account to create, and no online ordering, payment, or checkout anywhere on this site. There's no contact form and no newsletter sign-up. We don't ask for your name, address, or payment details to browse, and we don't knowingly gather anything beyond what's described above.

04Cookies

Cookies & analytics

★ ✦ ★

Google Analytics sets a few cookies (for example, one named _ga) so it can tell a new visit from a returning one and measure traffic in aggregate.

With your permission, we also use Google Ads measurement and remarketing tools, which can set cookies or read a device identifier so we can tell whether an ad led to a visit and show our own ads to people who have already been to coneyislandpottsville.com. We use these tools to run and measure our own advertising — we don't host anyone else's ad space on these pages, and we don't sell access to you. Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie and what it's for.

You're in control. You can:

  • clear or block cookies in your browser settings;
  • install Google's official Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on; or
  • use your browser's private-browsing or "do not track" settings.

Opting out of analytics won't affect your ability to use the site. To learn how Google handles data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

05Why

How we use what we collect

★ ✦ ★

We use the limited information above to:

  • operate, secure, and improve this website;
  • understand which pages and details are helpful, so we can make the site better;
  • answer questions you choose to send us.

We don't sell your personal information for money. But some privacy laws — including California's — treat the use of advertising and analytics cookies as a "sale" or "sharing", because data is sent to Google to measure and personalize advertising. You can opt out anytime — see Your Privacy Choices below.

06Advertising

How we advertise

★ ✦ ★

We use Google Ads to promote The Coney Island. To do that:

  • third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or a device identifier to show our ads to you on other websites and apps;
  • they may do this based on your past visits to this website (remarketing); and
  • we use the results only to measure and improve our own advertising — never to identify you to other businesses.

You can opt out of personalized Google ads at Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of many advertising companies at once at the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page. You can also switch Advertising off in our cookie banner or from Your Privacy Choices in the footer.

Do Not Sell or Share — Your Privacy Choices

★ ✦ ★

Because our advertising and analytics tools may count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under California and other state laws, we give you a clear, simple way to opt out:

  • choose Your Privacy Choices in the footer of any page to open your preferences and switch Advertising and Analytics off; or
  • turn on a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser — we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and apply it automatically.

We won't ask you to create an account or hand over extra personal information to opt out, and opting out won't change your ability to use the site.

08Third parties

Who we share it with

★ ✦ ★

The list is short because the data is. A few trusted providers process information on our behalf so the site can run:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our guests, our team, or the public. When you follow a link away from our site — to social media, Google Maps, Google reviews, or the App Store — you're on someone else's page, and their privacy policy applies there.

09Your call

Your choices & rights

★ ✦ ★

You can browse this whole site without giving us any personal details, and you can accept or decline Analytics and Advertising at any time from Your Privacy Choices in the footer.

If you're visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we don't set analytics or advertising cookies until you choose to allow them — our banner asks first, and you can change or withdraw your choice anytime. We share your choice with Google so its tools behave accordingly.

Wherever you live in the US, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information a business holds about you, and to opt out of its "sale", "sharing", or use for targeted advertising. Pennsylvania does not currently have a general consumer-privacy law, and we're a small local business — but we honor reasonable requests regardless of where you live, and we recognize opt-out preference signals like GPC. If you're a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we'll respond to verifiable requests. Either way, just contact us and we'll do our best to help.

10Families

Children's privacy

★ ✦ ★

We love that families visit The Coney Island, but our website is meant for a general audience and isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

11Care

How we protect it, and how long we keep it

★ ✦ ★

We keep analytics and log data only as long as it's useful for the purposes above, in line with our providers' standard retention settings. Google Analytics user- and event-level data is retained for up to 14 months; aggregate reporting may be kept longer.

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we handle, but no website can promise perfect security.

12Updates

Changes to this policy

★ ✦ ★

As the site grows, we may update this policy. When we do, we'll change the "Effective" date at the top of the page, and any material changes will be reflected here. Please check back from time to time.
